The Macomb Police
Department has a full time Community Service Officer (C.S.O.) who is
responsible for a variety of non-criminal law enforcement activities as
well as general support for the department. The C.S.O.'s work
includes the enforcement of certain city ordinances such as abandoned vehicles,
handling parking violations, investigating private property crashes, and
general public service assistance.
The department's
Community Service Officer also:

assists with traffic
control duties at the scene of a traffic crash

maintains the
department's vehicle fleet and police bicycle fleet

assists disabled
motorists
-
secures evidence and
property in the department's Evidence Room

manages certain
special events (parade routes, car shows) that occur on city streets
-
patrols neighborhoods
looking for ordinance violations, safety hazards, persons needing
assistance
